Tanzanites at Klimek Jewellers

Tanzanites can only be found in one place on our planet, in the northern hills of Merelani in northern Tanzania. This stone is a reasonably new discovery and as its only found in one place is already getting rarer. Tanzanites were discovered and named by Tiffany & co when it was first unearthed 1967.

Tanzanite can be found in a variety of different shades of violet blues and show different shades of these colours depending on what angle you view the stone. This stone is getting much more valuable the rarer it gets and strong violet blue tone stones are very desirable.

However these stones are quite soft and require care when wearing a piece of Tanzanite jewellery on a daily basis as they measure a 6 - 7 on the Mohs scale.
